When you share Kindness “you’ll never know the result, but you can rest assured that you’ll create a better world! Imagine if we all did this!” (Kindness Our Shared Purpose) During the month of April all designated donations to Missions will help provide beds and bedding to children in Chautauqua County who are currently sleeping on the floor. We have all had restless nights and know the day that follows is usually not very productive. We are often irritable and not able to attend to the task at hand. Imagine spending every night sleeping on an air mattress or couch because you do not have a cozy bed to climb into each night! Unfortunately, we have discovered there are many children in Chautauqua County that do not have beds of their own to sleep in each night. Our church’s Mission Team’s goal is to have no child in Chautauqua sleeping on the floor! Our research, as well as, national research shows that children that are not well rested have great difficulties in school. They often lack the ability to concentrate impacting their learning and are often irritable and aggressive affecting their social relationships. They start each day with many strikes against them. The children in need of beds are identified by local churches, school counselors, and community agencies. This project is truly an investment in the future of the children in our communities. Donations to Missions this month and hopefully a grant from Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation will help us to provide beds to children going into our sixth year of providing children with beds. Help us show God’s love to these children!
